Me: Paul Henman; Englishman transplanted to Toronto, Canada; geek (mostly Linux); project manager; badminton player; Formula One fan; recently getting back in to photography.

Online: all my photos are on Flickr; my blog is a mix of Formula One, photography and geek stuff; Facebook (what can I say? It’s Facebook); Twitter (ditto!).

Gear: I used to take photos with film SLR cameras, but once I went digital I’ve taken a whole lot more. Hopefully this means I’m learning and improving, not just posting a larger quantity of pictures.

My equipment list isn’t very large but it’s growing as quickly as I can afford

• Canon Rebel XTi with the BG-E3 battery grip (I found the body too small for my hand!)
• Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS lens with a Cokin 72mm UV filter and a Hoya circular polarizing filter
• Canon EF 50mm F1.4 lens with a B+W 58mm UV filter
• Merax PhotoFinder GPS (for geotagging)
• Manfrotto tripod (190XPROB + 804RC2)

Next on my shopping list:

• another network storage drive, because RAW images aren’t small! (2Tb MyBook World Edition II is about $370)
• ? LensBaby – I like the look of the Composer but haven’t actually played with one yet
• ? Remote control (RC1 or RC5) or maybe the Pclix timer + cable
• ? flash: I need to look at the Speedlite 580EX and 430EX
