2008 round-up


I have created a new Flickr set called “Round-up of 2008“; it’s a mix of photos that are either some of my better pictures (I believe) or were taken at memorable events. I intended for this set to be about a dozen pictures – I didn’t expect it to grow to this size, but it’s hard to choose between your “children” :)

I like to think that my recent photos show improvement compared to the start of the year, that I’ve learned more about both the tools (my camera, lenses and software) and the art (e.g. composition), but I know there’s still a long way to go – good thing it’s fun to practice!

Two of my photos were selected for an online travel guide (one of Montreal and the other is downtown TO) and a photo from “snowmageddon” (the media’s nickname for a recent snowfall – can anyone say over-reaction?), so that’s a positive sign.

One thing I keep forgetting to do is to submit my pictures to Flickr groups, especially ones like the blogTO group, where they can reach a wider audience and maybe stand a better chance of being published.
